Frequently Asked Questions
What is padel, and how is it different to tennis?
Padel is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It is played on a smaller enclosed court with walls, and players use smaller, stringless paddles. Unlike tennis, players can use the walls to keep the ball in play.

What should I wear or bring to play padel?
We recommend wearing comfortable sports attire and non-marking court shoes for optimal performance and safety. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!
Can children play padel?
Yes, we encourage players of all ages, including children, to enjoy the game! To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, children under 12 must always be accompanied by an adult unless they are enrolled in an organised session, such as our junior coaching program.
Do parents or guardians need to sign a waiver for minors to play?
Yes, all players under the age of 17 must have a signed waiver from a parent or legal guardian before participating in any padel activities. This ensures that the parent/guardian acknowledges the risks involved and provides consent for their child to play. Waivers can be signed at the front desk or submitted electronically, depending on the facility’s policy.
Can teenagers play padel without adult supervision?
Yes, teenagers aged 14-17 are allowed to play on the court without adult supervision. However, they must have a signed waiver from their parent or guardian before participating.
How does the Playtomic padel level system work?
The Playtomic padel level system helps players assess their skills and find suitable playing partners. It ranges from 0.0 (beginner) to 7.0 (elite professional), covering initiation, intermediate, and advanced stages. You can refer to the Playtomic level diagram here to determine your current skill level.

You can modify your booking directly through the Playtomic app by selecting your reservation and checking the available reschedule options. If you need further assistance, please contact our front desk. Note that cancellation and rescheduling policies apply.
What happens if I cancel my booking?
If you cancel within the club’s cancellation policy, you will receive an immediate refund to your selected payment method (including Playtomic service fees).
Can I split the court fee with other players?
Yes! Playtomic allows split payments, meaning you can share the total cost with other players. When making a booking, you can select the “Split Payment” option and invite the other players to pay their share directly through the app. Each player must complete their payment before the booking is confirmed.
What does a “temporary hold” on my payment method mean?
A temporary hold, or pre-authorisation, is a standard banking procedure to guarantee your booking. A small amount is temporarily reserved on your selected payment method to confirm its validity and available balance. This hold is not a payment.
I see a temporary hold on my card. When will it be refunded?
The temporary hold (pre-authorisation) is released automatically by your bank. Depending on your bank’s policies, this can take anywhere from a few hours to several business days. If you do not see the amount refunded within 3-10 business days, please contact your bank for further assistance.
How does the temporary hold work with split payments?
For split payments, the temporary hold is released two hours after the match, once the system verifies that all players have paid their share individually. The club then receives your individual payment (plus Playtomic service fees), and the remaining amount is released from your payment method.
What happens if other players don’t pay their share in a split payment?
If a player hasn’t paid within two hours after the match, the temporary reservation covers the outstanding amount.
What if I booked with my Club Wallet?
The temporary hold also applies to Club Wallet bookings. The full amount will be held from your Wallet balance, but don’t worry! Two hours after the match, once all payments are verified, the part of the payment (plus Playtomic service fees) will be collected, and the rest will be automatically refunded to your Club Wallet.
Why do I need to ensure my Wallet balance is enough for the full court booking?
Our system requires the Club Wallet balance to cover the full cost of the court booking. This includes the total amount for all players in the booking, not just your share. Make sure you have enough balance before making a reservation. If other players pay online or at the club, any unused Club Wallet balance will be released two hours after the end of the match.
